I tend to like books like this one because the place has such a romantic feel to it. The geography, the people--they all play a big role in the story. And then there is the difficulty and pain of being who you are--whatever and whoever that is. This book has some good characters in it who do try to support the growth of teens and their sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression. And there's a little bit of love, too. Takes place in the summer so is good summer read.
