Really a wonderful book. And the people reading the story have wonderful; English accents and beautiful voices. A story of the war experiences done in retrospect in a series of letters written in 1946. The Nazis occupied the island of Guernsey, hoping to invade Britain's main island. A yound lady writer who lived in London then and wrote columns during the war, goes to Guernsey soon after and meets the people there and falls in love with the island, the people, an orphan, and a man there.
