I would rate The Sumer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han 4/5 stars. This book is about a girl named Belly who visits her mother’s best friend Susannah’s beach house. Here, she lives with Susannah and her two sons Conrad and Jeremiah. Belly has always been chasing Susanna’s son Conrad. But, this summer she recognizes that Jeremiah has feelings for her. Despite everything, Belly meets a new boy named Cameron. This story has the perfect love triangle! Not only does the story revolve around love, but also about Belly’s self-discovery and relationships. This book was the perfect summer read, and the other two books in the trilogy are also amazing! I highly recommend this book for anybody over 12 years of age, especially fans of Jenny Han’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” series. @Dolphin05 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board The Summer I Turned Pretty is a heartbreakingly beautiful novel, the first book of The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy. This summer everything is different. The same as every summer, but somehow different. Belly is nursing a long-time crush on Conrad, Susannah's, Belly's mom's friend's, oldest son. This summer, Belly meets a boy, and that takes her on a whirlwind of discoveries. This book is truly one of Jenny Han's best works. It combines family, friends, love, heartbreak, and finding oneself. If you are a fan of John Green and Stephanie Perkins, this book is a must read. - @BookwormTAH of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library This book is the perfect summer read. It is told through the main character, Belly’s perspective. It revolves around her vacation to a summer house in Cousin’s that her and her family take every year. There they are accompanied by lifelong friends, Conrad, Jeremiah, and Susannah. Belly talks about her relationship with Jeremiah and Conrad from when they were little until everything began to change this summer. She falls in love with Conrad, but is unsure how he feels about her as he is so hard to read. Eventually feelings are exposed, fights break out, and a love triangle is formed. This book is a perfect mix of comedy, romance, and drama. - @bookwormanonymous of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library This is a heartwarming summer tale of a girl who continues her family’s ritual and heads up to her moms best friend, Suzanna’s, cottage for the summer. There she spends her time with Suzanna’s sons, Conrad and Jeremiah, two teenage boys who Belly hopelessly falls in love with. The book is told from Belly’s perspective and she often ponders on her feeling for the two boys. She has trouble deciding between the two. She likes the dark and mysterious Conrad, but at the same time is intrigued by the outgoing and open Jeremiah. She spends her summer trying to get to know the two boys she has grown up with on a more romantic level. Throughout the story, readers are able to see the jealousy of Conrad when belly starts to engage in more meaningful relationships with other boys. This book is an overall fantastic summer read that I really enjoyed. It is an easy read and there is no need to be disappointed because this book is part of a trilogy. I strongly advise you to pick up the book and read it and become captivated by the love triangle between two brothers and an oblivious teenage girl! - @BakerBooks of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
