A young boy has suddenly attracted the interest of a lemur. And, "Everyone knows that once a lemur takes a liking to you, there is not much that can be done about it." The boy tries to get away from the lemur by hiding, but more lemurs come along to join the chase. The boy tries everything including taking a train and jumping in a boat. He travels far away. But suddenly, he realizes he is lost. Luckily, he has attracted some lemurs who show him the way home. The boy realizes, they may not be so bad after all. The illustrations appear to be created with pencil and pastel. They are highly textured, colorful, and simple for the younger readers. Although the plot is pretty simple in this book, it is a cute story. The lemurs are adorable. I like how they backtracked the way they came which helps the younger readers to follow the story. This story is a good chance for children to learn more about a new animal too. It is recommended for ages 3-5, but I think first graders will enjoy it as well. Because of the simple wording, it will also work well as an early read alone book.
