RON PERLMAN SHOULD SUE
or WHAT THIS MOVIE NEEDS IS SOME DEADWOOD DIALOGUE...
Why not reboot the film that was "worth" a sequel and at least one animated film...
out of a comic.
Lead X looks to me to have completely stolen Perlman's mannerisms and
done his best to hide the theft in plain sight, and the Benneton casting makes
perfect sense in an actual metropolis like London, almost too much sense..
where's the bootblack?
Jovovich playing big bad does enough fist shaking to pull it off, in a
direct-by-numbers Meh-sterpiece cribbing most of the act pivots from the two prior films,
saving the reveal of the missing member for after the credits (thanks to Marvel for bringing
back easter-eggs) to tease a sequel, or sequ-Eh-l.

Usually it is my wife that pulls the plug on bad movies..I could not take the stupid plot and bad acting...and I am a fan of this genre. Lots of unnecessary and exaggerated gore.
Do yourself a favour and pass or make sure you have a backup movie for the night.

This was a horrible movie. It is worse then Millie J's other movies and worse then the original hellboy movie series.

Not too bad of a Hellboy movie. Loved Milla Jovovich as Nimue. But was kind of disappointed in the makeup and CGI.. made me miss the quality that was the Ron Perlman movies in those areas.

It was okay, but only okay. Not as good as the Guillermo del Toro ones. It also lost points due to the fact that there were ZERO cats - I haven't read the comics, but anyone who saw the previous movies knows that Hellboy has a soft spot for cats. I'm glad I didn't pay to see this.

This Hellboy Has lives up to the Ron Perlman's Hellboy of past years. Crazy fiendish story lives up to Hellboy myth. Overall, doesn't miss a beat.

Have not watched its prequels (Hellboy - 2004 and Hellboy II: The Golden Army - 2008) and knew nothing about the Hellboy mythology before this film but there are enough material on the anti-hero origin and other characters to fully appreciate the story. Thoroughly entertained with plenty of decent actions and special effects, particularly the bloody gory makeup. There is a short sequence inserted in the ending credits with Lobster Johnson telling Hellboy that the "big one's coming..." paving the way for another sequel.

This version of Hellboy didn't differ enough from the original two films to really feel like a reboot was necessary. It also turned into an end of the world CGI schlock fest as the film went on. There were certain parts that were great, like David Harbour. All the actors, in fact, were pretty great in their roles. Movie went by pretty fast, and, like I said, didn't really feel necessary. But I liked that they swore a lot.

These are not in IMDb as this morning:

The opening sequence... an extended version in deleted scenes:

The year is 517 A.D., known as the Dark Ages and for fzcking good reason. An endless war between the armies of man and the creatures of darkness has raged across Britain. And in retribution for man's injustices to creatures, the immortal witch Vivienne Nimue had spread her deadly plague threatening to wipe mankind off the face of the Earth. And so at Pendle Hill, beneath an ancient oak tree, King Arthur... Yes, that King Arthur, and his powerful wizard Merlin, were forced to surrender to Nimue, the Queen of Blood.

You know, maybe if humans weren't so keen on killing witches and demons and such, the witches and demons and such wouldn't be so keen on killing humans.
-That's a false equivalence and you know it.
There's gotta be another way. The answer to every threat we face cannot be annihilation. There's gotta be a world where monsters don't have to hide
in the shadows, where they don't have to live in fear. Where monsters...
===
People believe that Arthur's lineage died with him, but it's not true. The bloodline continued when Arthur had a daughter and that daughter had a daughter, and so on. Ending with Sarah Bethany Hughes. She used to fly to the Sabbath on the back of a demon in the shape of a goat. And on Walpurgis Night, 1574, she married that demon. That very night she was taken down to hell, where she delivered a son, Anung un Rama.
-That last part, I've heard that before. What is that?
It's you... Anung un Rama. Destroyer of all things. The title you were given on the day you were born.
