Kevin Kwan, bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians, is back with a wickedly funny new novel of social climbing, secret emails, art world scandal, lovesick billionaires, and the outrageous story of what happens when Rachel Chu, engaged to marry Asia's most eligible bachelor, discovers her birthfather.      On the eve of her wedding to Nicholas Young, heir to one of the greatest fortunes in Asia, Rachel should be over-the-moon. She has a flawless Asscher cut diamond from JAR, a wedding dress she loves more than anything found in the salons of Paris, and a fiancée willing to sacrifice his entire inheritance in order to marry her. But Rachel still mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won't be able to walk her down the aisle. Until: a shocking revelation draws Rachel in to a world of Shanghai splendor beyond anything she has ever imagined. Here we meet Carlton, a Ferrari-crashing bad boy known for Prince Harry-like antics; Colette, a celebrity girlfriend chased by fevered paparazzi; and the man Rachel has spent her entire life waiting to meet: her father. Meanwhile, Singapore's It Girl Astrid Leong is shocked to discover that there is a downside to having a newly-minted Tech Billionaire husband. A romp through Asia's most exclusive clubs, auction houses, and estates, China Rich Girlfriend brings us into the elite circles of Mainland China, introducing a captivating cast of characters, and offering an inside glimpse at what it's like to be gloriously, crazily, China-rich.

I liked book 1 better, but this was still a pretty good book. I wish they'd included the family tree at the beginning of this one as well as I still needed that cheat. The synopsis wasn't quite enough for me.

(Review Not on Blog)

The second novel in the Crazy Rich Asians series, takes up two years after the first novel ended. Rachel is searching for her father, while Nick is avoiding his mother. Astrid, Eleanor, Kitty, Eddie are back with a new crew of crazy characters. This is another fun addition to the series.

Such a good book. The Kitty Pong storyline is so hilarious! Astrid’s storyline is entertaining. Rachel’s storyline is crazy. Can’t wait to read the third book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the trilogy. It is clear that the author is inspired by some of shenanigans reported in the press of wealthy and powerfully connected Chinese such as Jho Low and Bo Xilai.

This book was funny, scandalous and heartwarming. I'm not going to spoil anything, but i can't wait for China Rich Girlfriend to hit the big screen. It's a crazy good book.

This veered a little off from the first book and I missed some of the original characters. Otherwise still a decent book!

More money only leads to more problems for Rachel and Nicholas after a quick and intimate wedding ceremony. While attempting to mend fences with Nicholas' family, Rachel finally meets her birth father and has more adventures with Chinese society. Book two of 'Crazy Rich Asians' does not disappoint - with plenty of intrigue, scandal, and decadence. Be sure to look for the film sequel coming out in 2020.

This series is such good fun. I love having a window into a life style and culture so different from my own.

A guilty pleasure that enlightens me on the ways the super-rich can find to spend all their money. So glad we got to see a good healthy dose of Astrid's story in this one. She is my favorite character in the trilogy. Looking forward to seeing more of her in the third installment. I do appreciate the point that is made in the book about the lavish spending of the rich. When they buy something, the money often goes into the pockets of hard-working people and helps them to have better lives. Food for thought. Speaking of food -- how are the people in these books able to stay thin?! The food sounds so good!!
