I found this book by chance at the library, and what a great find! This is a charming children's picture story about a prince and a knight who find their happily ever afters together. A great book to introduce children to LGBTQ relationships.

Short and sweet book about finding true love! The beautiful artwork goes along with the beautiful message embedded within the story. Definitely deserves a spot in any book collection.

Very nice story about a prince finding the right person for him and accompanied by amazing illustrations.

A sweetly illustrated fairy tale about a prince and his knight in shining armor. I love that they defeat the dragon together, on equal ground, and I love the acceptance shown by the king and queen. The story never touches on the fact that there are people in the world who would fight against his royal match, and I appreciated that. We need more happy LGBTQ+ stories, and lately children's authors are knocking them out of the park!

I loved this sweet story! It is a great way to make LGBTQ relationships more visible and 'normal' for children. The story shows a healthy family relationship with parents who accept their son's sexuality, as does the rest of the community. The illustrations are beautiful - simultaneously classic and modern. My 6 year old enjoyed the story and I think it would be easy to understand for any age child, though perhaps not as interesting for intermediate age children without using it specifically for discussion.

And they all lived happily ever after. The End <3

This book would be a fine read-aloud for any preschool class room - I think School Library Journal's age assessment is a little high for this book - you could share it with children in the 3-4 year age range easily. There is a battle with a dragon who does perish (with x's over the eyes, so you might need to explain what that means if they don't already know) but otherwise it's a simple sweet story of a prince who is trying to find his true love, and finds it when he and a knight show up to battle the same dragon.
