Every manager wants employees who are happy to be where they are and are excited by their jobs. Unfortunately, coworkers and employees are often less than ideal. To work with these people, managers need to focus on behaviors that can be changed, not on "attitude" that cannot. One of the most critical steps for managers is to look squarely in the mirror and make sure that the problem employee is not looking back at them. Seven specific types of irritating coworker, including the cynical old- timer, the time bomb, and the worry wart, are profiled and a strategy and method for working effectively with each is explained.
