Bestselling author, speaker, and world-traveling success coach Jen Sincero cuts through the din of the self-help genre with her own verbal meat cleaver in You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. In this refreshingly blunt how-to guide, Sincero serves up twenty-seven bite-sized chapters full of hilariously inspiring stories, life-changing insights, easy exercises, and the occasional swear word. Via chapters such as "Your Brain Is Your Bitch," "Fear Is for Suckers" and "My Subconscious Made Me Do It," Sincero takes you on a wild joy ride to your own transformation, helping you create the money, relationships, career, and general all-around awesomeness you so desire. And should you be one of those people who dreads getting busted with a self-help book in your hands, fear not. Sincero, a former skeptic herself, delivers the goods minus the New Age cheese, giving even the snarkiest of poo-pooers exactly what they need to get out of their ruts and start kicking some ass. By the end of You Are a Badass, you will understand why you are how you are, how to love what you can't change, how to change what you don't love, and how to start living the kind of life you used to be jealous of.

One of the better self-help books that I've read. Jen Sincero, does a really good job breaking points down and sharing her life experiences. I would highly recommend this book to a few of my friends who feel stuck. Positive thinking is key!

I really liked this book. It has some of the classic thoughts from the "Readers are Leaders" self-improvement mantra but with a twist. I find myself thinking about and explaining at least one adage from this to other people several times a day. I definitely recommend this book. She does use some bad language from time-to-time and has some outlandish theories but it is worth reading/listening to. The overall theme is to love yourself, you can do anything, and never give up!

Sincero gives some solid advice about discovering and committing to your purpose while rooting out subconscious saboteurs. Although I don't agree with some of her advice, she does provide honest (and sometimes witty) tips for addressing your fears, pursuing your goals, and leaving the outcome up to God/Higher Power/Universal Intelligence.

Sincero cleaves through the hippy-dippy the muddle of fuzzy-wuzzy self-helpery with this funny, frank, and no-nonsense approach to becoming a better you!

Extremely fun and motivating self help book with solid suggestions and advice grounded in known cognitive techniques! Makes you want to make real changes to your life, by encouraging small changes in thinking and beliefs and inspiring you to take action!

I'm a give it to me straight kinda person which is why I love this book. It is now one of my go to books/audio to reach for. We are bombarded daily with bad news, people's words/actions all topped off with the worldwind of doubt, negative self talk & thoughts going on in our heads. Listening & reading positive content daily is necessary. Not all audiobooks are worth listening to but this one TRULY is worth it! Jen is funny, in your face, find your peace, love yourself, stop whining & just do it already. I now own the book and the audio version of You are a BadAss and I will be telling others they need to not only read the book but they MUST listen the audio version! Thank you Jen Sincero for writing an incredible book.

You know how they say to not judge a book by the cover? Yeah -- well, great title. All downhill from there, unfortunately.

It didn't really speak to me (a 40 something year old guy). There is a specific audience for this book. It's well written and funny in parts, but there are sections about finding the perfect man, feeling sexy in your body, and believing in the cosmic power that things will show up when you need them most. But most importantly, love yourself.

I didn't find it very practical at all. But if you are struggling with your own self-confidence and in a lonely place, it may work for you.

Currently listening to this fab book, read by the author herself. Get on the holds list for the print version or go to Hoopla NOW for the audiobook and get ready to manifest your dreams! (Hoopla has no holds or lines!) Seriously, this book is the perfect amount of admitted cheesiness and straight-up good advice.

Loosen your Bone, Wilma!

If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse.

Don’t get so tangled up in the stupid little stuff that you miss out on enjoying the people who have part ownership of your heart.
