Pretty good movie. However couldn’t take the family especially his mother. So crude & annoying quit watching. Whole selfish family gets on your nerves.

It was a good movie about relationships as well as what it takes to recover from something awful. People sometimes treat you weird when you survive something.

When my child was dealing with cancer she had to deal with people being like that and as a parent I also had to deal with people. People that call you brave when your just being you and trying to survive or get through the day. Also how some of those same people will want the photo op with you or you and your family. People sometimes just don't seem to get that sick people or injured aren't some sort of spectacle for their propaganda. Be it an organization claiming to help injured or sick people, or some stranger that seems to think they know you from some article in a newspaper.

People need to learn to back off. Also that their need to try to turn them into a hero for a cause can cause other problems for people. For their own mental wellbeing of dealing with whatever they are dealing with and the intricacies of various relationships with people.(friends, family, partners, bosses, etc) This show though did show supportive bosses and what sort of reaction people have when they don't know if they will get the help they need.

Quite a story made all the more incredible by the lead actor and actress. Made me want to pick up where I left off in regards to Orphan Black!

Good movie, drags along a few times, but lots of swearing, insprirational story about one of the survivors of the Boston Marathon Bombing, and his struggle to get well, and adapt to his new way of life.

I thought this would be an interesting story about the obstacles overcome by Jeff Bauman a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombing. He obviously had more to overcome than the loss of his legs, his family is crude and seems to want to ride the tide of his tragedy for the publicity. I was not impressed with the way this story has been told. I am genuinely sorry for what happened to Jeff and others who were injured or killed in that horrific act of violence. I would not recommend this movie.

I was super disappointed with this movie. Although the acting was great, I kept waiting for some kind of emotional revolution to happen for the main character, that he would see his family's dysfunction, and his own, and recover from it... spoiler alert... it doesn't happen

"F" bomb alert. Dysfunctional family. bunch of drunks.. Costco did a lot for Jeff with insurance claim and disability even though he was not a model employee. Rehab is tough.

Watchable but not inspiring.

A pretty solid biopic that runs maybe a bit too long. Still, it's worth watching. Jake Gyllenhaal and Tatiana Maslany (of Orphan Black fam) are outstanding. This film is about an anti-hero, Jeff Bauman, who is forced into the spotlight and has trouble dealing with it. The film did a good job about the characters' struggles but I wasn't convinced of the main character's heroism or strength (perhaps that was the point?). Also excellent was Carlos Sanz's very brief but memorable and moving portrayal of Carlos (aka The Guy in the Cowboy Hat who saved Jeff's life). The direction was mostly fine and the events are realistic and shocking but (deliberately) not too gory. Special note: Several of the real people who helped Jeff portray themselves in this story including his physiotherapist and the two guys who fit Jeff for his prosthetic legs.
