Finely acted, beautifully photographed, and entertainingly written. Too bad it's mostly speculation. While the journey did happen and peace was the result, what happened on film is pretty much complete fiction. There is no transcript and neither side has spoken about what was spoken. So, we get creative non-fiction. I don't mind that but I wish they'd disclose that up front instead of the phony 'Based on a true story" or "Based on true events" which really doesn't say much but suggests a lot. All that aside, it is an entertaining movie. Just don't think of this as historically accurate.

WOW! What I didn't know about the end to the civil war in Ireland! If this is even half true--what an amazing story. Colm Meany was wonderful. (the make up artist not so much) Lots of stars in this one.
