Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey, Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him, as well as everyone around him, as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

A bit too creepy for my taste. I just want to know if that is McAvoy's real physique or CGI. To look like that he would have had to work out like a....beast;). I only watched this because of its connection with Unbreakable and the upcoming Glass. There is not necessarily a happy ending here but definitely a harbinger of things to come.

A great piece of acting by J Mcavoy and J Mcavoy and J mcavoy.....etc. I loved the content ,the director. There wasn't much to not like. The lead should have received the golden statue for this work.

This is definitely one not to be watched with younger viewers. It has a very disturbing plot. The story lines had all kinds of twists and turns all the way through. This is not the typical movie you can guess ahead on. The lead actor was amazing in being able to portray his character in such a way, he made it very clear to the viewer who they were watching at that moment. I'm being vague to not put a spoiler. It is absolutely not a story for the faint of heart.

A little slow at first but well worth the explosions of thrill. My favorite part was Hedwig dancing, hilarious! Mind blowing realities of human brain! Give yourself a couple hours if nothing else to know the signs of multi personalitied (DID) Could save your life?!

M. Knight Shyamalan is the writer and director of Split, a sequel to the 2000 film, Unbreakable. In this film, three teenagers are abducted by Kevin Wendell Crumb (played by James McAvoy), a man who has 23 split personalities. When the girls are caged underground, Kevin approaches them as a seemingly different person each time, while all his personalities await for the 24th personality, known as The Beast. This personality is rumoured to grant him superhuman abilities when it arrives. While the plot seems very far-fletched, its strength is its unpredictability, which makes the story quite interesting. Each scene is unsettling yet engaging, and James McAvoy’s portrayals of different personalities are brilliant, which add to the thrilling storyline. This horror-thriller movie is unique in its plot and its direction, and I believe it deserves a rating of 4.5 stars.

3 stars because the acting was great but the plot is bland and slow, and it never really goes anywhere. There's never really a point.

None of the characters appealed to me, especially Doctor Fletcher who was weak sauce. It's a really messy movie that is trying to be multiple things, like the character Crumb. I did not like this one.

Boring crap movie!

Psycho thriller recreating the worn out theme of someone with multiple personalities. Recommended only for those who like that sort of thing.

I was thoroughly impressed with this movie, even the second time I saw it. M. Night has finally returned to his element after a couple of flops at the box office.

The Beast: You are different from the rest. Your heart is pure! Rejoice! The broken are the more evolved. Rejoice.

Tons of quotes in IMDb but not:

DID P1 of 2:
One identity in an individual with Dissociative Identity Disorder can have high cholesterol. One. There have been cases where one identity is allergic to bee stings. The others are not. Are there moments where two identities can coexist at the same time? There are times when two identities can take the "light" or "the spot" or consciousness at the same time. This happened with a student that I was working with. And her left and right hand were taking notes in different hand-writings about separate things at the same time.

DID P2 of 2:

The differences in the identities can be dramatic. As much as the difference between you and me and every person in that auditorium. The identities have different IQ's. They have different physical strengths. One personality is a Russian weightlifter and can lift three times his body weight. Their ability to hyper-focus and have different experiences is astounding. Have these individuals, through their suffering, unlocked the potential of the brain? Is this the ultimate doorway to all things we call unknown? Is this where our sense of the supernatural comes from?
