This book could have been good. But sadly, it just wasn’t. Catherine Alene was not able to pull of the novel in verse style whatsoever. The lack of punctuation and style almost kept me from reading this book because nothing hooked me, not even the protagonist’s love for horses; and trust me when I say I love horses. The main character was annoying and infuriating. I understand that the author wished to put her own experiences with an eating disorder in this novel, but there should have been a better way to do it because none of it intrigued me. Her relationships with friends was horribly executed, and by the end of the book I still didn’t really know the character. I suggest reading “This Impossible Light” by Lily Myers instead; it covers the same topic but in a much more readable manner. Rating 1/5
