A riveting tale of destruction and love found in the direst of places, even at the extreme end of post human experience, Lidia Yuknavitch's book raises questions about what it means to be human, the fluidity of sex and gender, and the role of art as a means for survival.

This should have been a teenage superhero comic book. Bloody propaganda.

A post-apocalyptic feminist retelling of Joan of Arc. At times beautiful. Always very weird. It just didn't work for me. I did have a much easier time reading the book versus listening to the audiobook.

I feel destined to survive the Trumpocalypse and thus want more reality based feminist post-apocalyptic dsytopia. Since earlier this week Paul Wolfowitz went from Never Trump to the "happiest I've ever been in my life" I can only assume the PNAC plan is back on the table and we will start WW3 with the Axis of Evil by years end. I really wanted to love this novel, but in the end the supernatural aspect of it did not work for this old coach.
