Great film. I really appreciated the attempt to give us an authentic sense of the life of those times in general, and that that family in specific: the actresses were normal looking people, there was no make up, dresses that should have been dirty were, actually, dirty, really interesting fabrics were used as was the style of the day, the post horses grimy from long journeys, the small rooms, the caring interactions and the painful interactions - amazing landscapes - and the poetry of Anne Brönte - not to mention great dialogue, cinematography, directing.. This is a movie I will probably watch many times.

Terrible movie. Sound was off. Coloring of the movie was mostly green and grey. Foul language. Very disappointing.

The film gives realistic insight to the bleak existence and difficulties faced by the Bronte sisters. Not everyone will enjoy this film version but I found it to be an authentic view of the conditions which likely spawned such deep and passionate writings. When one takes into account the attitude and societal constraints placed on (and against) women of their day, their fortitude and drive to succeed was nothing short of incredible and admirable.

I usually enjoy period films but I was so bored I couldnt watch more than 45 minutes.

With its odd pacing, this biopic is best for fans of English literature rather than a general audience. There is absolutely stunning scenery and a compelling revelation of the tragic and brief lives of the three sisters, focusing on the limitations of living as women in 19th century England, and the complications of having a distraught and destructive brother.

If you enjoy quibbling, steady scenes switches with little apparent plot you will enjoy this movie. Otherwise it's a no go

Made for people who think the Bronte family was trying out for a "reality TV" show. Probably the worst version of their lives I have ever seen or read.

Any BBC + Masterpiece Theatre production is excellent, as was this 2 hour series about the Bronte family. I thought the cast did an excellent job of capturing sweet Anne, fiery Emily, and authoritative Charlotte. But we can't just use one word to describe them, and this film excels at adding depth and breadth to the siblings, especially troubled Branwell.

A fine cast explores the lives of the Bronte sisters and their brother Bramwell. If you ever wondered how Emily came up with the plot for "Wuthering Heights", or why Bramwell never fulfilled his early promise as a writer, or how Charlotte's novel "Jane Eyre" became world-famous... here are your answers.
