Fast paced, chilling thriller, edge of your seat read. Crappy ending.

The story in Koontz's latest is excellent: the conflict is massive and terrifying in its implications, the characters are believable and compelling, the action is satisfying and well-paced. But his writing style nowadays is notably different than his classic works: wordier, more ostentatious. It might not be to taste for fans of his older books.

I wasn't aware that this was a serial and that there would not be an end to the storyline. I don't mind books that continue a character's adventures book to book but ending without any conclusion the the current story. Ugh.

Dean Koontz introduces us to Jane Hawk, a tough a nails, don't mess with my boy, FBI agent! The Silent Corner is a page-turner and I am anxiously awaiting The Whispering Room!

How disappointing ! Although the premise of this book is intriguing and frightening; like all of Koontz's best works there is always that underlying feeling of "that could never happen ... or could it ?" , and Jane Hawk is a likeable character, this book felt to me like a female Jack Reacher. I will probably read the next book in the series, because I generally love Koontz's writing, but I certainly won't be desperately waiting for it to be published. I wish he would go back to his "old" style.

This is an amazing book with an intriguing plot and an interesting new character, Jane Hawk. Dean Koontz certainly knows how to build suspense and visually share the adventures of Jane right into his next book-I patiently await greatness! I loved the Odd Thomas series and Ashley Bell-this book equals all the others.

Suicides are on the rise and Jane's husband is one of the statistics but Jane refuses to accept that her happy husband committed suicide. She is now an FBI agent on the run searching for clues. Went off in a direction I didn't expect! Enjoyable read!

I read over 200 pages and gave it up. This is not the way Koontz used to write. I wish he would get old school on us and write like he did when he first started writing.
