This cookbook/memoir is not for simple Thai dishes with only one or two exotic ingredients. That is Punyaratabandhu's first book, Simple Thai Food. But while the recipes are much more complex they are not fussy, and the stories about the author's Thai identity tie all the recipes together. Definitely give this a try if want to know more about Thai food and culture, or you are homesick for the city of Bangkok.
