Maybe this will appeal more to curling fans, than the fans of any of the actors in this movie. It feels like a boring CBC movie of the week, or a lengthy TV episode. A couple of laughs / smiles are to be had. (Example, the curling commentator shouting excitedly as if it was a hockey game or wrestling match!) Was hoping for more from this one, as it had a great cast.
Will probably please those as old as Prime Minister Alexander Mackenzie.

Not surprised that there's holds on all three copies of this movie as of this writing - February 2012, FYI. Worth the price of admission at the movie theatre, and the best curling story I've seen since "The Black Bonspiel of Willie MacCrimmon"!

OK, it shows a low budget, and some of the production values may suffer a little. But it's got a lot of wit, and a somewhat intangible Canadian feel to it; a gentleness and lack of interest in shock or ambush of the audience. If you don't like curling you don't have to: the game situations are presented clearly when important. Great little film, well worth seeing more than once.
