We may have forgotten to use our library voices, for a minute, when we were reading this in the library. There are multiple "To The Rescue" books but this one is the most absurd, where the pigs just surprise the heck out of you with their stunts. Highly recommended when you need a laugh. Or several.

The illustrations are wonderful and are really what make the book. The words themselves don't say much, and there isn't much story there outside of enjoying the crazy pig pictures. I will admit, though, that the last day is quite clever.
Worth reading, but we won't be buying this one.
Edited to add that my 2 year old son is requesting rereads so I am boosting the rating to four stars (from three and a half).

The piggies do their best to help save the day as any Hero should, but they sometimes don't get things just right - just like we all do in our own lives!

I haven't read the other books in this series. But I found these pigs to be rip roaring fun while they try to help, but make a mess instead. The illustrations of these focused pigs cracks me up. I feel the humor hits the spot for little kids who would enjoy the antics of these little pigs.

First it was the chickens, now it is the pigs' chance to save the day.

However, in their frenzied rush, the pigs give help whether it was wanted or not. Really, they are causing some trouble for the beleaguered family, as they sweep from page to page creating mayhem.

These hectic actions are portrayed with silly poses, made by pigs in comic costumes. The piglet in particular is one to watch for.

By the end all may seem well, but just as the family breathes a sigh of relief, the author hints at more in store for them.

My favorite part was where they plowed the fields. The ending was very funny.
