Riveting and devastating. Master of the plot. Like Louise Penny and Anna Quindlen, I'll now be reading all her novels. Only an intelligent, compassionate and deep person could write like she does.

I am honestly amazed by Jodi Picoult's work and talent. My sister's keeper has one of the best plot twists ever. While reading this book I imagined myself endings but it was far from what actually happened. It's a heartbreaking and beautiful book I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book for the fact that it places the thought of what is morally correct. Anna's journey to help her sister with cancer and having to make a choice that regards her own body is endearing. Every character in the book has a story to be told whether right or wrong that is for the reader to decide. I found that reading this was filled with emotion for every action each character took.
The only thing that I did not like about the book is the lead in to the ending I feel like it felt rushed to be done. I do recommend reading this book if you are looking for slightly light reading it is one that can be put down and picked up again.

I read maybe a third of the book and then skipped to the last 5 chapters or so. I don't feel like I missed much. Sometimes so many side stories weaken the main characters, and I wanted to know about Kate and Anna.
It was a good read, a little long, but still worth the time (at least what amount I put into it :)

Well.....that answers that: would I enjoy Jodi Picoult's writing? Answer: No, I don't.
I found the story long drawn out with very little substance to the heartbreaking story she was trying to tell. Add a romance to draw in more readers, and you've got a book written for profit, not substance. Don't get me started on that ending......

How would you feel if you were the mother, the sick daughter, her healthy sister, or any other member of this family? You may find yourself realizing that in answering that question, you've failed to put yourself in each person's shoes - until you read the book.
As always, we feel the feelings of each character affected by the situation in Jodi Picoult's books. We are drawn in until we "are" each character.
We are given much food for thought on a controversial topic that is very much relevant in today's world.
I so enjoy having my world expanded by good novelists!

“There should be a statute of limitation on grief. A rulebook that says it is all right to wake up crying, but only for a month. That after 42 days you will no longer turn with your heart racing, certain you have heard her call out your name. That there will be no fine imposed if you feel the need to clean out her desk; take down her artwork from the refrigerator; turn over a school portrait as you pass - if only because it cuts you fresh again to see it. That it's okay to measure the time she has been gone, the way we once measured her birthdays.”
