An OK detective series.

I've seen six seasons of Dalziel & Pascoe and I really like it. It takes a while to get 'into' the characters but, as the seasons go on, more and more of the reasons why the characters behave the way they do are explored.

In general I have noticed a distinct bias against religion in the works of Reginald Hill. I would personally like to throttle him for making his characters go out of their way to denigrate anyone who has spiritual beliefs. Shame on you Reginald Hill for your personal slant and unfair bias.

I've only watched disc 1, but I can write my review now: it's horrible, the worst BBC thing I've ever seen, the most miscast show I've ever seen, and the complete opposite of the novels which are wonderfully witty, with memorable characters and amazing puzzles. There are only 10 actors in Britain, and none of them are in this show. Think of the grumpiest cafeteria lady you know: the people who were conscripted into appearing in this dreary, unfocused mess do their job with the same attitude, and no wonder. Horrible, I tell you.
