Alas, like most remakes, this one lacked daring. There were few changes to the plotline or characters and the void was not filled with extra high drama or masterful dialogue.
We are left with watching pretty updated battle scenes. Nice but lackluster.

A Classic Western, updated with more character development and to include more main characters of different ethic backgrounds. There is a good amount of humor to balance against the tense moments. There is a lot of violence. For swearing, only the word s**t is used, but there are no gory, bloody images shown during the shoot outs. Appropriate for teens with their families.

Dumb remake.

Don't expect a realistic portrayal of the Old West. This is pure Hollywood complete to the obligatory Gatling gun. There's a nod to Steve McQueen when Chris Pratt picks up a mares leg carbine to blast bad guys. A good idea but wrong story. A good popcorn movie.

This was a good remake of The Magnificent Seven. The only part that spoilt it for me
was the Gatling Gun. The range they were firing the weapon and the damage being done
seemed excessive I don't think the weapon was that good. Other than that a good western.

Loved this version as much as the original The Magnificent Seven (or the Seven Samurai). Very well done and acted.

We slick gun-fu movie. The basic plot and setting are similar to the earlier version but that's about it. Fabulous performances help a lot. Gets a bit ridiculous at the end but, like I said, it's a gun-fu movie.

Surprisingly fantastic. Nowadays the remakes are cheesy with too much flavour but this one stands alone and the new plot, changes, the cast, performance and twists are very good. Incredible action sequence with the old school "golden days of Hollywood" ending with being respectful to the original version which basically was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai".

An outstanding new version of the story. Seven men come together in the old West to defend the residents of a town under threat by a malicious businessman. The cast is diverse and well chosen for their roles, and their characters are given depth. The action of this Western is well paced, and the film is satisfying and entertaining.
