As a young man, Leon Nader suffered from insomnia. As a nightwalker, he even turned to violence during his nocturnal excursions and had psychiatric treatment for his condition. Eventually, he was convinced he had been cured-- but one day, years later, Leon's wife hastily packs a bag and flees from their flat under mysterious circumstances. Could it be that his illness has broken out again? In order to find out how he behaves in his sleep, Leon fits a movement-activated camera to his forehead-- and when he looks at the video the next morning he makes a discovery that bursts the borders of his imagination. A tight thriller with a fascinating insight into a young man's mind while he was sleep walking. Well, that's how it started out but by the time I was through into the second half I got a little bored and the story had descended into a meandering mish mash which didn't hold my attention as much as the first half. And why at the end of thrillers and crime novels do they always tie the loose ends up nice and tight and explain everything as though you can't figure it for yourself or be left hanging wondering, because that is what life leaves you hanging with messy side roads and loose ends that can't be boxed up neatly. It served as a reminder why thrillers and crime novels are not high on my preferred reading lists. A lot of readers of thts genre will no doubt enjoy it.
