In the late 60's early 70's Burton Cummings had one of the best Rock n Roll Voices in the business, The Guess Who did some GREAT work! Give them a spin.

The second disc with all the hits on it is awesome. The first disc is much different. It is interesting but doesn't have the nostalgia of the hit songs.

Lyrics excerpt - "Colored lights can hypnotize... Sparkle someone else's eyes... Now woman, I said stay away... American woman, listen what I say."

In those good, old days of early, Canadian Rock'n'Roll, 5 talented boys from windy Winnipeg, Manitoba emerged onto the music scene as The Guess Who.

Headlined by Burton Cummings (lead vocals/lyricist) and Randy Bachman (lead guitarist/songwriter), The Guess Who, and their distinct "Canadian" sound, flourished successfully for a solid decade (1965 - 1975). Time and again this first-rate band topped the pop music record charts on either side of our country's border, and beyond.

This 2-CD collection of The Essential Guess Who proves, without question, that these Canadian rockers were worthy of international recognition. Out of the 40 tunes featured on these CDs, some of my all-time favourites are - Undun, No Time, Shakin' All Over, and, of course, American Woman (watch video), to name but a few.
