A charming collection all about Ramona Quimby and her family. From the age of four onward, we get to grow up with Ramona, seeing the world through young eyes and reasoning with her childhood logic. The relationships we explore, from the sometimes tumultuous sibling bonds with Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby to the desire of a young girl seeking her mother's approval, from the concern of Ramona toward her father to her up and down friendship with Howie, this collection captures the joys, sorrows, and all around craziness that accompanies growing up.
Beverly Cleary has created a world that is believable and fun to be in, even through the fights and tantrums. Few authors have ever captured childhood the way I feel that Cleary has in this and her other works.
This whole collection should be read by all who want to remember what it was like to be a child, and by those children who would like a look into the way it used to be.
A fantastic audio book! Stockard Channing does an amazing job bringing life to Ramona's world.
