This book consists of 25 practical guidelines helping you to improve your vocabulary, style, grammar, and layout to achieve clear writing. Completely revised and updated, this essential reference work is now even more useful: the word lists have been expanded; a new list of clichéd and troublesome words toavoid has been added; there is new coverage of writing with a style guide; and the general sources and examples of real life stories have been replaced with more recent ones.

APL added a great little book to its stacks!

The "Oxford Guide to Plain English" far outweighs the proverbial Funk & White Style of Writing books that date back to the 1970s. The Oxford Guide to Plain English is stated in plain English--- a topic explained in this little desk reference.

If your are an aspiring writer or a seasoned editor, you may want to add this to your repertoire.

Once again, the Brits come out on top! The Oxford Guide series is just one more reason why Oxford University is an Ivy League institution.

Not interested in another reference? It's a good read all by it's self. Pick it up, randomly pick a page, point, and brush up!
