I did enjoy this fiction novel. It did put new light on many things, but I realized that it still was fiction. Easy to read. I finished the book in 2 days.

I enjoy fiction based on real events and since I also like true crime, this title that re-imagines the Lizzie Borden case was a natural choice. It had lots of great reviews also. I liked it…I don’t know if it lived up to the stellar…

A very creepy historical fiction. I had not known much about Lizzie Bordon besides the old nursery-rhyme, so it was fun to get a perspective of her life, as well as that of her sister, and the maid Bridget.

It's fiction, all right. The author ignores some of the basic facts of the case -- such as the layout of rooms in the house. The police *could* not have come down the "back stairs" from the guest room, and Lizzie *could* not have walked…

This could have been so much better. The plot points here that the author chose to focus on- the food (pears, pears, mutton, pears, mutton...), the ridiculously unnecessary side plot, and the events of the day before the infamous murders…

The best word I can find to describe this book is meh. Lizzie is so insufferable that I spent most of the book hoping someone would take an axe to her instead. Emma and Bridget were sympathetic, but everyone else deserved the axe. This…

A fictional account of events surrounding Lizzie Borden and the gruesome axe murders of her father and stepmother in the family home circa 1892 Massachusetts. Chapters are expressed through the first person perspectives of Lizzie, her…

This novel is a reimagining of the Lizzie Borden story. It contains a few clunkers - did people really say "lighten up" a century ago? - and the character of Benjamin was added to merely increase the number of suspects. The story sticks…

Creepy? Check. Compelling? Check. This book really gave a different spin on the Borden murders and it was fun to go for the ride.

I found this version of the Borden murders to be quite compelling, and particularly appreciated the multiple perspectives, which gave one a sense of how each person was experiencing the events in the narrative. The story was gripping from…

Lizzie Borden took an axe,And gave her mother forty whacks; When she saw what she had done,She gave her father forty-one. I jumped rope to that when I was a young girl, never giving much thought to who Lizzie was and why she would want…

It took me two days to rip through this delicious, creepy little feast. Highly recommended if you are into historical fiction, true crime cases, or love unreliable characters (like I do). The many, many narrative perspectives in See What I…

An eerie (and even more twisted) take on the infamous Lizzie Borden case. This one will give you the chills, even though it's set during the hottest days of summer.

First time author, Sarah Schmidt, has taken the Lizzie Borden story and given us a narrative told through the actual people involved. It's a tightly wound story and the author uses the atmosphere of the house itself to add to the events..…

An atmospheric, creepy, and disturbing read about Lizzie Borden. The ultra-descriptive writing style is so effective that it made me feel uncomfortable at times

I was disappointed in this novel. It was quick moving and pulled me in but it didn't satisfy. This is a story about Lizzie Borden. I wanted blood and guts and sadly there was very little.

Historical fiction is not normally my thing, but I really enjoyed this title. Fast-moving and the characters were very interesting and well-researched.

After reading the new Lizzie Borden historical novel "See What I Have Done" by Sarah Schmidt, I cannot decide which family I’d less like to be a member of: the Bordens or the Mansons. To say that Lizzie, her sister, her father, and her…

Intensely imagined psychodrama featuring Lizzie Borden and her infamous ax. Lizzie, sister Emma, maid Bridget and feral drifter Benjamin (the least persuasive character) alternate points of view. Readers looking for courtroom drama and/or…

The atmosphere is well done, as are the characters, but I felt the addition of fictional Benjamin was unnecessary and too many strands were left unresolved, meant only to add to that atmosphere when they had potential to be useful to the…

Fabulous voices of the four characters narrating the different chapters. Lizzie : high maintenance is the kindest thing to say. Emma: brow-beaten and neglected. Bridget: treated like a dog and plenty angry about it. Benjamin: A fictional…

What better way to observe the 125th anniversary of the Lizzie Borden murders than this new novel about the events?
