Sundays in June | 1:30-3:30
The Canadian Library (TCL) Project is a community-driven art installation that uses Indigenous-inspired fabrics to cover hardcover books, creating a memorial for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit (MMIWG2S) individuals, and Children. The names of those lost will be printed in gold letters on the book spines, serving as a tribute to the thousands of lives taken.
Acknowledging the history and the wrongdoings that have occurred and are still occurring is the most important step. We provide a platform, a space where the stories of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women, Girls (MMIWG) and children are shared.
Following a viewing of This River, participants will wrap books in Indigenous-inspired fabric while adding the name of MIMIWG2S folks, while learning more about their story.
